Description

Monopoly is a popular board game where players aim to dominate the real estate market by buying, trading, and developing properties. The game, originally created in 1935 by Charles Darrow and later marketed by Parker Brothers (now part of Hasbro), has become a staple of family game nights around the world.

Basic Setup of Monopoly:
Players: 2–8 players
Game Board: The game board consists of 40 spaces, including 28 properties, 3 Chance spaces, 3 Community Chest spaces, 4 railroads, 2 utilities, and 4 corner spaces (Go, Jail, Free Parking, Go to Jail).
Objective: To bankrupt all other players by collecting rent from properties, while avoiding bankruptcy yourself.
Key Components:
Game Board: Divided into 40 spaces.
Properties: 22 streets, 4 railroads, and 2 utilities (electric company and water works).
Tokens: Each player starts with a token, such as a car, hat, dog, etc.
Money: Monopoly money in denominations of $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, and $500.
Chance and Community Chest Cards: These cards create random events that can either help or hinder players.
Houses and Hotels: Players can buy houses and hotels to increase the rent they collect from opponents who land on their properties.
Dice: Two six-sided dice are rolled each turn to determine how many spaces a player moves.
Banker: One player is designated as the banker, who manages the money, properties, and auctions.
How to Play:
Start the Game:

Each player chooses a token and starts at the "Go" square.
Players receive $1500, divided as follows: 2 x $500, 4 x $100, 1 x $50, 1 x $20, 2 x $10, 1 x $5, 5 x $1.
Taking Turns:

Players roll two dice and move their token the corresponding number of spaces around the board.
When landing on an unowned property, the player can buy it for the listed price or the banker will auction it to the other players.
If landing on a property owned by another player, the player must pay rent.
Building Houses and Hotels:

Once a player owns all properties in a color set, they can begin building houses (and later hotels) to increase rent.
Houses must be built evenly across properties, meaning you can’t build a second house on one property until you’ve built one on all properties in that set.
Bankruptcy and Winning:

A player goes bankrupt if they owe more money than they can afford to pay (to another player or the bank).
The last player remaining with money is the winner.
